Biomolecules for pharma, nutraceuticals & food
Biomed International manufactures four ingredients: Chondroitin Sulphate Sodium, Collagen Peptides, Glucosamine Hydrochloride and Cholic Acid. Each one starts as a natural raw material: cartilage, hide, fish skin, chitin or bile. Extraction, purification, drying and testing all take place in our own two units in Andhra Pradesh, so every batch is fully traceable.
From source to product
Manufactured from the source, in-house
Each ingredient begins as a basic natural raw material and leaves our units as a tested, documented product. Because we run every stage in-house, we control quality at each step, not only at final release.

Traceability
Every finished batch traces back to its raw-material lot, with the supplier and date of receipt.
Consistency
Our process controls cover every stage, so each batch behaves like the last.
Assured supply
We’re not dependent on intermediate suppliers. That keeps lead times short and prices stable.
Pharmaceutical · API
Chondroitin Sulphate Sodium
Chondroitin sulphate is a glycosaminoglycan: a long chain of alternating sugar units that holds water inside cartilage and helps it absorb load. We isolate it from bovine cartilage, then purify it through enzymatic hydrolysis, filtration and precipitation. The result is a pharmaceutical-grade API: a free-flowing, off-white powder that dissolves readily and presses well into tablets and capsules.

Food ingredient
Collagen Peptides
Collagen is the main structural protein in skin, bone and connective tissue. We break it down with controlled enzymatic hydrolysis into short peptides of low molecular weight, then spray-dry them. The powder is neutral in taste and odour, dissolves clear in cold water and stays stable in drinks, bars and capsules. Collagen peptides are a food ingredient, so they fit food, beverage and supplement formulations alike.

Nutraceutical
Glucosamine Hydrochloride
Glucosamine is an amino sugar that the body uses to build the glycosaminoglycans in cartilage. We hydrolyse chitin with acid, and decolourise and crystallise the product into glucosamine hydrochloride, a high-purity white powder. From our own glucosamine HCl we also make the two sulphate salts, so formulators can choose the one that fits their label and market.

Key starting material for UDCA
Cholic Acid
Cholic acid is a primary bile acid. The liver produces it from cholesterol, and it helps the body digest and absorb fats. We recover it from bovine bile by saponification, then purify it by repeated crystallisation. Its main use is as the key starting material (KSM) for ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), a widely used liver and gallbladder API.
